1.) CNN 10 (https://www.cnn.com/cnn10): CNN 10 is a short 10 minute video segment designed for students. It covers a variety of events and news stories around the world. Students can watch the news and become informed of the events going on in the world around them. Students are also encouraged to generate their own thoughts and opinions on the events going on.
2.) 10 Study Skills for High School Students (http://www.campusexplorer.com/college-advice-tips/C6CA1844/Top-10-Study-Skills-for-High-School-Students/): Designed for high schools students, this site helps students learn 10 helpful study tips for use in high school and beyond.
3.) DVR (https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dvr/): Division of Vocational Rehbabilitation, or DVR, is a government organization that can help students with disabilities find, get, and learn the skills to keep jobs. If your student is interested in applying for services, you can do so right from the website. The link to acess the online referral can be found at: https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dvr/referral/
4.) WiTransition (https://www.witransition.com/): For students ages 14-21, transition is being discussed as a part of the IEP Meeting. Students will need to complete an age-appropriate transition assessment as part of this process. WiTransition provides an online version of one of these assessments. Students can complete the survey and email the results to themselves, their parents/guardians, their teachers, or anyone else they feel needs to have this information. Students who are case managed by me will complete a paper copy of this form with me prior to their annual IEP Meeting. WiTransition is also available in the app store of your mobile device.
5.) Opening Doors Series (https://witig.org/transition-planning/opening-doors/)--The Opening Doors series provides a process of planning for life after high school that includes making decisions, planning, and taking actions. Specifically, it is a tool for students with IEPs to use as they begin to plan for a successful future. Electronic copies of this series can be found on the link.
